Inspired by the great Latin poet, Ovid.
There was a pond, where Narcissus did sit. His tale you know but let me tell another. He was a fool, this much I must admit For he did love but did not love some other. His tale reflects on us for we do tend To love ourselves, it seems to be our goal Obsess with self-identity, depend On what we make, as if it was our soul Don’t love thyself, you will miss out on life. Just turn away, and then you see the truth. You are nowhere, but in your thoughts of strife Let go of them, and live this life, O Youth! O World Outside, you are a mirror true. My soul is real, but not in me, in you.
