Celestial Bodies

A poem in celebration of this years Ramadan completed in the Cape with the best of company.

Lucan left us so many years ago,
but his message is written on the sky.
The whole cosmos is in a constant flow,
And so even stars can’t death pass by.

Don’t fear, although the world to chaos turns,
when the guiding starlight cannot be seen.
For planets torn from orbit may return,
but no hope lies in wishing what has been.

Dissolve the engines of the broken world,
and make the space for something new to come.
You won’t be lost so keep your sails unfurled.
The hearts of men shall guiding lights become.

So when dark comes, open your eyes to see,
the shining stars who true companions be.
